A modest cottage in Cupertino, California, modified over the decades, was largely gutted to add necessary infrastructure, provide a consistent ceiling height, complete a bathroom remodel and create a brand new kitchen. Walls were added and removed to organize the space and to maximize the panoramic views of the Bay and nearby hills.
The bath was rejuvenated with a skylight over a glass shower enclosure, a bright, invigorating color palette using a mix of glass, stone and terrazzo tiles and stained cherry casework. The soothing blue glass countertop ties the composition together. As the heart of the home, the kitchen has commanding views both inside and out, and is set-up for either entertaining or family meals.
The warm palette of cherry cabinets, natural cherry floors and espresso colored countertops balance the painted gypsum board walls and ceiling.
