The “Bay Area Young Architects”, a sub-committee of the San Francisco chapter of The American Institute of Architects, conceived, marketed, constructed and erected this wonderful Installation as a gateway and threshold for the attendees of the 1998 AIA National Convention to walk through upon entering the Moscone Convention Center.
Acting as BAYA Chairman during 1998, James A. Walbridge, A.I.A., President of Tekton Architecture, along with Yann Taylor, A.I.A. and Francis Donlon, Assoc. A.I.A., formed the BAYA Project Team Leaders to shepherd this installation through all phases of implementation. A truly collaborative effort of BAYA members along with assistance from Tekton Architecture and Artisan Builders, this project came in on-time and under-budget for the 1998 AIA National Convention.
